After the rain

With the wet season finally starting to happen here in Darwin I felt I would put up a photo taken a few years back when I lived in Gapuwiyak. This photo was taken after some of the first rain for the season out there. I had only recently purchased my Olympus camera and was still working it out. I remember after the rain being excited to get out and try my camera out. The photo I ended up with was of the barbed wire fence that surrounds the airstrip with a lovely little water droplet forming on the barb section of the fencing wire. The black and white contrast of this photo simplifies it and gives it a nice rustic feel and captures a peaceful but rugged beauty that perfectly encapsulated the feeling after that first bit of rain had come down. This photo will be for sale in the shop.
